More than 70 college students from Hong Kong, Macao and Nanjing, capital of Jiangsu province, visited Langshan Mountain in Nantong on Jan 1, as part of celebrations to mark New Year’s Day. 

The mountain visit formed part of a cultural project, allowing students from the three cities to see some of the best attractions that Nantong has to offer. 

Mountain climbing is one of the traditional ways that Chinese people welcome the new year. Climbing a mountain can be long and arduous, but also rewarding –– a symbol that through hard work, great things can be achieved and obstacles overcome.
