Prince Kung's Palace Museum unveiled the third stop of its overseas touring exhibition Anshan Cuijin: An Exhibition of Chinese Lifestyle Aesthetics at the China Cultural Center in Madrid, Spain, on Dec 16 (local time). The event offered a dialogue between China and Spain on their understanding of beauty.
Continuing the concept of "Traditional Culture, Contemporary Expression", the exhibition centered on the aesthetics of traditional Chinese lifestyle. Four immersive spaces inspired by Chinese courtyards and scholars' studios — Huanhua Jing (Flower-Bathing Realm), Fenghe Xuan (Pavilion of Gentle Breeze), Xueji Tang (Hall of Clear Sky After Snow), and Huaxiang Zhai (Flower View Studio) — were elaborately created.

More than 110 items of furniture, artifacts, stationary, garments, and creative designs were presented, alongside a display of calligraphy and paintings by artist Pu Xinyu (1896-1963), a former resident of Prince Kung's Palace. Together, they ingeniously form a "show within a show" that bridges tradition and modernity, art and life.

Lectures and workshops held during the exhibition further invited Spanish audiences to engage with the cultural depth and refined lifestyle embodied by Prince Kung's Palace.

Coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the comprehensive strategic partnership between China and Spain, the exhibition aims to deepen mutual understanding and promote cultural exchange through showcasing traditional Chinese architectural aesthetics and elegant ways of living.

Yao Jing, Chinese ambassador to Spain; Lu Wenjie, deputy director of Prince Kung's Palace Museum; Xu Tingting, deputy director of the China Cultural Center in Madrid; and Álvaro Romero Sánchez-Arjona, head of the culture department at the Casa de Alba Foundation attended and addressed the opening ceremony. He Yong, minister counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Spain; María Gloria Elizo Serrano, former vice-president of the Congress of Deputies of Spain; and Marta Montoro, general director of Cátedra China Foundation, along with over 60 guests from Spanish cultural institutions and media also attended the ceremony.
