Dates: Dec 14, 2023-March 17, 2024
Location: Ledao Hall
Co-hosted by Prince Kung’s Palace Museum, Liaoning Provincial Museum and the Palace Museum, the exhibition gathers 14 silk and embroidery treasures from the former collection of Prince Kung’s Palace.
Numerous old photos and valuable documents are also on display to comprehensively present how these textile pieces came into Prince Kung’s possession, how they were lost from the mansion, and how they have been reunited for the exhibition.
Another highlight of the exhibition features part of the personal collection of Zhu Qiqian (1872-1964) – one of the founders of the Society for the Study of Chinese Architecture, exploring their connection with the palace. The hardships of identifying and protecting treasures during periods of turmoil and war are also explored.
