Dear friends,
Next year, I will be 40 years old.
You may be surprised to know that,If I was built 242 years ago
and have seen all the prosperity of the world and the vicissitudes of life,
how come I will only turn 40 years old next year?
It all comes back to the late 1970s,
during which time my occupation by several institutes and organizations came to an end.
Upon the vacating of these institutes, the restoration of my buildings and preparations for my opening-up to the public began.
In 1983,
with the establishment of the restoration management office, I was “reborn”!
With the continuous efforts of successive generations of staff at Prince Kung’s Palace Museum,
in 2008, I was fully opened to the public.
As a foremost protected cultural heritage site,
a national 5A-level tourist destination , and a national first-class museum
I welcome visitors from all over the world.
I would like to celebrate my 40th birthday
by soliciting stories and other materials related to the museum. Whether you are an old pal or a new friend of the museum, I’d love you to share:
a photo, a letter, a video,
an award, an inscription, a banner,
or even a testimonial!
A piece of advice…
as long as your submission is related to me and comes from the heart,
you can share it at anytime!
What you can submit:
Documents, letters, manuscripts, drawings,
newspapers, journals, books,
videos, calligraphy, paintings,
certificates, banners, plaques,
instructions, inscriptions, epigraphs and testimonials
- The witnesses of 242 years of Prince Kung’s Palace
since the founding of Prince Kung’s Palace in 1780, especially since the late 1970s
