An exhibition of Chinese ethnic clothing, organized by the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology, was launched on Sept 26.

The exhibition features more than 100 pieces of ethnic clothing and other garments.
It explains these ethnicities’ dress code, craftsmanship, and the materials they used.
A fashion show was held at the opening ceremony of the exhibition. It displayed modern designers’ original works that were inspired by ethnic clothing and culture.

The Prince Kung’s Palace Museum and the Beijing Institute of Fashion Technology have co-organized multiple events and programs, including exhibitions, workshops, and seminars on linen fabrics and manufacturing technologies. The current exhibition is the first in a series of exhibitions of Chinese ethnic clothing.
Models demonstrate designers’ original works inspired by ethnic clothing and culture.
In parallel with the opening ceremony, a seminar on Chinese clothing was also held. Experts, fashion designers and a curatorial team were invited to join the discussion.
The exhibit will run through Oct 25.
