The Cultural and Creative Product Design Competition, co-hosted by the Prince Kung’s Palace Museum and the Beijing Design Week organizing committee, has won broad attention and support from design agencies, individual designers, and design institutes since its inception online.
The competition aims to exploit the museum’s cultural and relic resources, create cultural brands, develop cultural creative products, and establish a licensing cooperation mode between the museum and cultural enterprises. By fostering, inheriting, spreading and utilizing cultural resources, the museum is committed to expanding its cultural product inventory in order to meet the increasingly diversified spiritual and cultural needs of the public.
The total prize set for the competition is 845,000 yuan ($122,150), with 120 awards in total. By the submission deadline, the number of visits to the competition’s official website had passed one million. It has been reported on by nearly 200 media outlets and supported by more than 50 design institutes. A total of 9,444 valid works have been collected. According to the competition’s policy, expert judges and organizers have conducted three rounds of objective, impartial and rigorous reviews. The results of the IP design are announced as follows:
