The 10th Blossoms of Wisdom gathering, marking the centenary of the founding of the Communist Party of China, was held at the Prince Kung’s Palace Museum on April 12.
Guqin artist Wu Zhao plays the guqin zither in a traditional-style setting at the gathering.
Opening with a leisurely guqin melody, the event gathered more than 40 literati and scholars from the poetry, education and art spheres to admire flowers, recite poems, listen to music and taste tea.

At the event, Feng Nai’en, director of the Prince Kung’s Palace Museum, reviewed the development of the event, expressed gratitude for the support from the Chinese Poetry Society and Nankai University and hoped to continue their cooperation to make contributions to promoting traditional Chinese poetry culture and education.

Yang Kexin, deputy Party secretary of the Nankai University, mentioned the friendship between the university and the Prince Kung’s Palace Museum, greeted the guests on behalf of professor Chia-ying Yeh and hoped to make contributions to traditional Chinese culture together with the museum and the Chinese Poetry Society.

The century-old event, the Blossoms of Wisdom, has been resumed since 2011. Thanks to the charm of Chinese poetry and these poets’ efforts, the event has gathered guests to exchange poetry and built a platform for poets and scholars to discuss how to integrate museum education with poetry culture.
Meanwhile, an exhibit celebrating the 10th anniversary of the resumption of the Blossoms of Wisdom was unveiled at the museum.

The exhibit displayed precious documents and photos that reflect the evolution of the event as well as poems created by literati attending the previous events. It aims to introduce the history of the event and the Prince Kung’s Palace Museum’s intention of holding such a high-level cultural activity, help the public learn about the vitality of traditional Chinese poetry in modern times and arouse people’s interest in reading and composing Chinese poems.
