International banking group Standard Chartered recently signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Lin-gang Special Area and the Lingang Group during the 4th China International Import Expo, or CIIE, which took place in East China's Shanghai city on Nov 5-10.

Under the agreement, the London-headquartered banking giant will help the Lin-gang Special Area in Shanghai to develop green and sustainable development finance, cross-border and offshore finance – as well as financial services for science and technology enterprises, parks and personal financial services.

By working with other financial institutions, innovators, regulators and think tanks, Standard Chartered is trying to make a contribution to China's "dual carbon" goals.

Based on this, the bank's CIIE stand reflected the theme of creating a sustainable ecosystem, which is said to be in line with the green and low-carbon construction concept of the Lin-gang Special Area.
