On Sept 27, the 2021 Dishui Lake Industry Investor Conference was held in the Lin-gang Special Area of the China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone – located in East China's Shanghai – according to local media reports.

With "investment for tomorrow" as its theme, the conference attracted nearly 60 well-known equity investment and funds institutions and 18 of them signed on-site contracts, with aggregate funds exceeding 58.7 billion yuan ($9.09 billion).  

Zhu Zhisong, secretary of the Party working committee of the Lin-gang Special Area and executive deputy director of the administration, also attended the event.

The contracts involve integrated chips or IC and artificial intelligence, or AI. They are expected to promote strategic cooperation between the special area and investors and boost financial innovation and the integration of science and technology innovative abilities.  

A number of key industrial investment funds reportedly signed contracts and will settle in Lin-gang in the near future.  

During the conference, industry experts and leading investors carried out active discussions on four hot topics: AI, biomedicines, IC and aerospace.
