Promoting the development of the Lin-gang Special Area was listed as one of the main tasks at the executive meeting of the Shanghai Municipal Government held on June 15 in Shanghai.

The 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25) of Lin-gang Special Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone was approved at the meeting.

It was pointed out at the meeting that the Lin-gang Special Area should highlight institutional innovation, as well as improve the precision and coverage of policies and institutions.

Under the plan, Lin-gang should focus on the development of high-end pillar industries, strengthen its ability to allocate resources and strive to become a new growth hub for the city's economy.

It should also improve all kinds of support services and vigorously recruit and retain top personnel.
