Shopping festival set to boost retail spending in Lin-gang

The 5-5 Shopping Festival in the Lin-gang Special Area – situated in East China's Shanghai city - started on April 30 and will reportedly run until June 30.

It is booked to work with various manufacturers, holding displays of new energy vehicles, practical robots and home elevators, as well as promoting local spending on big-ticket consumer goods.

The 5-5 Shopping Festival is an event where merchants encourage customer spending by launching new products, subsidies and activities.

It is regarded as a significant show and hallmark event, that will speed up the construction of an international retail center in Shanghai and it is regarded as playing a seminal role in supporting the city's consumption and steady economic growth.

Lin-gang reportedly will launch a range of key activities during the festival - including the opening ceremony, four major themed consumer events and more than 70 special activities.

Other events – covering business and travel, Lin-gang's manufacturing sector, promotions, discount offers and the night economy - will be rolled out in succession.

Lin-gang will hold a number of highlight activities featuring cross-departmental cooperation and cross-industry links. These will cooperate with various manufacturing brand enterprises to hold product fairs.
