Kunming's Chenggong district kicked off its celebration of the 7th Chinese Farmers' Harvest Festival on Sept 20, drawing locals and tourists alike to admire the scenic rice fields, join in pear-picking activities and experience a range of colorful events.
In the Jiangwei residential community, golden rice fields stretch as far as the eye can see, and in the Wanxichong residential community, trees laden with pears are a testament to the district's agricultural abundance. These scenes vividly capture the thriving harvest in Chenggong.
In recent years, the district has made significant strides in advancing rural revitalization, developing several model villages. Jiangwei, known for its clean environment and natural beauty, has become a seasonal attraction, with its springtime rapeseed blossoms, summer lotus ponds and autumn rice fields.
The community has also hosted seasonal events, such as the Potato Harvest Festival and Lotus Festival. Meanwhile, Wanxichong has capitalized on its core resource, the high-quality Baozhu Pear, establishing a cultural brand through its annual pear-picking festival.
Chenggong's rural areas now offer a harmonious blend of natural landscape and picturesque farmland, creating a vision of thriving, sustainable rural living. The district's efforts are gradually unveiling a beautiful picture of a prosperous, ecologically balanced countryside.
