Enterprises from the Chenggong district have shone at the eighth China-South Asia Expo in Kunming.

The expo, which ran from July 23 until July 28, attracted over 2,000 exhibitors to the capital of Southwest China's Yunnan province.

This year's expo featured a pavilion for the coffee industry, which highlighted Yunnan's reputation as China's leading coffee producer, and among the participants attracting the most attention was Chalatte Coffee. The brand set up four live broadcast rooms at the expo, offering unique coffee varieties for attendees to sample.

"Our products were very well-received during the expo. We achieved average daily sales of over 200,000 yuan ($27,532) on Douyin and over 10,000 yuan ($1,337) offline, which is quite impressive," said Zhu Zhanghai, brand manager at Yunnan Chalatte Brand Management.

Founded in 2022 in Kunming's Chenggong district, Chalatte Coffee specializes in instant tea and coffee and aspires to lead a new generation of milk coffee brands in Asia. The company has developed extensive sales channels, both offline and online, achieving substantial success on platforms like Xiaohongshu, Pinduoduo, JD.com, Douyin and Tmall.

In the medical and health care pavilion, Taikang Community Dian Garden Nursing Home presented a new lifestyle model that integrates medical care with travel. The booth attracted numerous visitors interested in the innovative approach to elder care.

"We look forward to welcoming the first residents to our comprehensive medical and health care community in September next year," said Jia Ying, marketing director of Taikang.

The project, which began in May 2022, opened its experience hall in January this year.

In the green energy pavilion, Huawei showcased its advancements in digital infrastructure, digital energy and digital life, emphasizing its contributions to the development of Digital Yunnan and its cooperation with South and Southeast Asia.

In 2022, Huawei established its Yunnan regional headquarters in Chenggong, further supporting the district's growth as a modern hub for science, education and innovation.

Jointly organized by the Ministry of Commerce and the Yunnan provincial government, the expo is one of the most important events of the year for economic and trade exchanges between China and South Asian countries.
