The Second Kunming Flower International Forum was held in Beijing from May 23 to 24, aiming to promote high-quality development of Kunming's flower industry through international cooperation and exchange.
During the event, Kunming participated the 26th China International Flower and Horticulture Exhibition (Hortiflorexpo) as a guest city, visited the Embassy of the Netherlands in China to attend a special flower-themed event, hosted a promotional conference for the Dounan flower industry of its Chenggong district, released new flower varieties, and conducted research visits to leading domestic flower enterprises.
In recent years, Kunming's flower industry has maintained its leading position nationally, becoming the largest flower distribution center in China.
With its notable development in the flower industry, it has hosted the event and attended as a guest city the Hortiflorexpo, the largest and most renowned professional trade fair in Asia's flower and horticulture industry.
This year's exhibition attracted nearly 800 companies from about 20 countries and regions, including the Netherlands, Germany and Japan.
At the opening ceremony of the Hortiflorexpo, a representative of Chenggong district delivered a speech. During the Chenggong Dounan Flower Industry Investment Promotion Conference, investment intentions amounting to 340 million yuan ($46.93 million) were reached. Additionally, the Yunnan Academy of Agricultural Sciences unveiled 40 new and superior flower varieties.
The city will continuously enhance international cooperation to empower the high-quality development of its pillar flower industry, accelerating the industry's international development. These efforts aim to help Kunming establish itself as a world-class flower trading center.
