Chenggong district of Kunming is striving for high-quality development, with a focus on cultivating new growth engines and accelerating the establishment of robust industrial chains.
The district attracted 6.5 billion yuan ($903.79 million) in funds from industries outside the province and utilized actual foreign investment of $68.16 million.
Key projects, such as the Kunming Artificial Intelligence Computing Center and the Jiuzhoutong big data headquarters have landed in the district.
To enhance innovation momentum, Chenggong has strengthened university-industry collaboration, constructed innovative platform carriers and established an industrial development fund. The intensity of R&D investment across the Chenggong society has been maintained at over 3 percent.
Thanks to continuous efforts to improve administrative efficiency and optimize the business environment, Chenggong has seen a net increase of 32,000 market entities, a 60 percent year-on-year growth.
The district has also vigorously advanced its three-year action plan for urban and rural greening and beautification, establishing 53 new urban pocket parks, adding 24 hectares of urban green space, and planting 400,000 trees.
This year, Chenggong will undertake targeted breakthrough actions in key industries, focusing on the digital economy, flower industry, health and biopharmaceutical industry, and modern service industry.
