On Dec 23, the opening ceremony of the 5th Lancang-Mekong International Film Week was held in Kunming. Zeng Yan, member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Yunnan Provincial Committee and minister of the Publicity Department; and Wang Hao, vice-governor of the People's Government of Yunnan province, graced the event.

Wang Hao highlighted that Yunnan province has been promoting film and television, focusing on building national-level film and television bases, and supporting cultural and artistic cooperation among countries in the Lancang-Mekong region.
Wang also shared his hope that the countries along the Lancang-Mekong River would continue to deepen cooperation in film collaboration, talent development, and technical exchanges, for the film week to become a prominent platform for fostering a spirit of sharing and mutual prosperity in the film industry.
To promote the cultural brand of the film week, the event has appointed Hu Jing, a renowned Yunnan-born actress, as the event’s brand ambassador.
The awarding ceremony of the "Golden Elephant Honor"
During the ceremony, several films, including Beyond the Clouds, Goodbye the Groundhog, Football on the Roof, Chang An, and Snow Leopards and Friends were awarded the "Golden Elephant Honor" of the film week.
With the deepening implementation of the Lancang-Mekong Cooperation Mechanism, the Lancang-Mekong International Film Week has become an important channel for cultural exchange, artistic display and win-win cooperation among countries in the Lancang-Mekong region. The visibility and influence of the Lancang-Mekong international cultural brand continue to rise.
