The opening ceremony of the 5th World Media Summit & 2nd Yunnan International Communication Forum was held on Dec 6 in Kunming, capital of Southwest China’s Yunnan province.
Scheduled from Dec 4 to 8, the summit, co-hosted by Xinhua News Agency and the Yunnan government, gathers over 300 representatives from more than 80 media outlets, international organizations, and institutions from nearly 30 countries and regions worldwide.

Wang Ning, Party secretary of Yunnan, said the border province has an advantageous geographical location, breathtaking landscapes, rich cultural heritage, and abundant resources and serves as a window to understand China. He extended a welcome to media friends from around the world to explore the essence of 'Yunnan: A Many-Splendored Life,' and uncover fascinating stories within.

During the summit, participants will engage in discussions on new opportunities for media cooperation, international cultural exchange, and corporate international image building. There was talk of visits and exchanges in Yunnan to further explore these topics.
