This year, the Chinese border town of Mohan in the Southwestern China’s Yunnan province has secured a total of 119 key projects with a combined investment of 91.83 billion yuan($12.85 billion). A total of 111 of the 119 projects have been approved, and 72 projects have commenced construction. At present, more than 1,000 registered enterprises are located in Mohan.
This year, Mohan has focused on industries such as processing and manufacturing, international trade, modern logistics, medical and health care. As of September, Mohan had received 504 million yuan of funds for industrial projects outside Yunnan province, with an actual utilization of foreign investment of $10 million.
Seizing the historical opportunity brought by the RCEP and the China-Laos Railway, the Mohan-Boten Cooperation Zone strives to help Mohan transform into an international port city.
The first phase of the Mohan Smart Port construction project has been basically completed. The inspection and release time of freight vehicles has been reduced from the original average of 8-10 minutes to about 4 minutes, and customs clearance efficiency has been significantly improved.
In terms of optimizing the business environment, the Mohan-Boten Cooperation Zone Government Service Center has set up 43 acceptance windows for public security, commercial services, comprehensive approval, people's livelihood services, and railway customs, to implement 28 provincial level administrative powers, promote enterprise registration, tax payment, medical insurance and social security.
