During the eight-day Mid-Autumn Festival and National Day holiday that ended Friday, Kunming became one of the trending travel destinations nationwide, with overall travel orders increasing 232 percent year-on-year.
The proportion of interprovincial travel orders in Kunming during the holiday exceeded 50 percent, and the volume of orders increased by 183 percent year-on-year. Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Chongqing ranked as the top five cities for visitors.
The increased demand for interprovincial and long-distance travel has driven growth in such areas as accommodation and car rentals. During the 8-day holiday, the booking volume of high-star hotels in Kunming increased by over 60 percent compared to 2019, while the booking volume of bed-and-breakfasts increased by over 82 percent compared to 2019. Car rental bookings in Yunnan also increased by more than double compared to 2019.
Yulong Mountain, Manting Park, Xishuangbanna, Wild Elephant Valley, and other well-known scenic areas were among the most popular attractions in Yunnan during the holiday.
