The seventh China-South Asia Expo concluded on Sunday in Kunming, and featured the signing of 338 projects totaling an investment of 404 billion yuan ($56.1 billion).
Notably, 69 projects amounting to 65.6 billion yuan were inked in Kunming, the capital of southwest China's Yunnan province. These agreements are set to inject new momentum into the city's industrial upgrading, accelerate the formation of industrial clusters, and continually optimize its economic structure.
In addition, five projects with an agreement value exceeding one billion yuan were contracted in the China-Laos Mohan-Boten Economic Cooperation Zone, Mohan town. These projects span various sectors including cultural tourism, health, and infrastructure development. Since taking over Mohan in May 2022, Kunming has been striving to shape Mohan into an international port city.
The projects are poised to play a guiding role, further expediting the modernization and international port city development of Mohan.
The five-day event attracted over 30,000 exhibitors as well as representatives and guests from 85 countries, regions and international organizations.
