Many participants of the 7th China-South Asia Expo from South and Southeast Asian countries have chosen to take the China-Laos Railway to Kunming, Yunnan province.
The China-Laos Railway started cross-border passenger services in April and has transported 52,888 passengers as of August 15.
On August 15, the Mohan checkpoint on China's border with Laos tallied that 246 train trips had been provided by the railway, serving 52,888 passengers from 53 countries and regions.
The Mohan checkpoint has introduced intelligent language translation devices to cater to travelers of various languages. This device can perform real-time translation in over 70 languages.
Themed "Solidarity and Coordination for Common Development", the expo kicked off in Kunming, Yunnan province on Wednesday.
The five-day event set up 15 exhibition halls including a biomedicine and healthcare pavilion, a resource economy pavilion, and a regional cooperation pavilion.
The expo, with a total area of 150,000 square meters, has attracted 30,000 exhibitors participating both online and offline.
