Luquan county in Kunming nurtures a rich tapestry of ethnic traditions. During the ongoing local torch festival from July 28 to Aug 13, people of all ages dressed in traditional attire to attend activities like bullfighting, wrestling, and song and dance performances.
As nights fall, torches are lit and crowds gather in the square, where they pile torches into towering structures called torch towers. People gather around bonfires, singing and dancing, creating a lively and jubilant atmosphere.
