As part of the Kunming Zhenghe Cultural Tourism Festival this year, folk art performances given by some 1,200 performers dressed in traditional costumes representing various ethnic festivals were staged in Kunming on July 13.
One of its highlights was the zhuá lè, a folk dance among the ethnic groups in Kunming.
A thousand selected zhuá lè performers display 18 sets of movements, embodying the lively rhythm, spectacular arrangement, and graceful choreography.
Dancers, accompanied by instruments, rhythmically beat their hands while showcasing their footwork. It has been listed as a Kunming intangible cultural heritage project since 2006.
