The Kunming Department of Finance recently released 40 million yuan (about $5.9 million) to the Administrative Committee of the Mohan-Boten Economic Cooperation Zone between China and Laos to support the revision of urban development planning and the improvement of the urban profile of Mohan town, which borders Laos.
The overall urban planning for the building of Mohan into an international border city is a key project to implement the decision of Yunnan province to foster demonstration areas for opening up in the border region. It is mainly designed to build Mohan into a smart, efficient, secure, law-based and green land port and push for city development.
