Panlong, a district of Kunming city, Southwest China's Yunnan province, has made huge strides in economic and social development and achieved fast economic growth over the past five years.
Statistics show that the GDP of Panlong surpassed 100 billion yuan (about $14.9 billion) for the first time in 2022.
Over the past five years, Panlong has closely followed industrial and technological development trends, forged new growth momentum in all industrial sectors with digital technology, and injected new vitality into the development of the digital economy.
Meanwhile, a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation has brought plentiful development opportunities to Panlong.
A total of 99 high-tech enterprises from Panlong passed their assessment and acceptance in 2022, the highest number among all district-level areas in Kunming. The number of high-tech firms in Panlong grew to 244 in 2022, the third highest in the city.
In addition, Panlong fostered 86 provincial-level technological small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in 2022.
As a pilot zone for the digital economy in Kunming, Panlong will redouble its efforts to promote the transformation of its digital economy and strive to be a demonstration area for technology-driven development.
Panlong will also intensify the development of commerce & trade, the digital economy, its information consultation services, and research & planning sectors, and endeavor to become the most dynamic industrial cluster of the service industry and an economic corridor of commercial buildings (headquarters) in Kunming and Yunnan as a whole.
