On Jan 7, the annual census of red-headed gulls in Kunming was carried out simultaneously at 67 points in the city. According to statistics, about 39,000 red-billed gulls spent the winter in Kunming in 2022.
The survey was conducted by more than 40 members of staff and volunteers from the Kunming Forest and Grass System and the Kunming Bird Association across 67 red-billed gull habitats in 24 areas.
