Thirteen enterprises from Kunming in southwest China's Yunnan province have been added to the national list of demonstration firms for service-oriented manufacturing, accounting for 86.67 percent of the total number in the province.
In addition, 42 enterprises, or equivalent to 80.77 percent of Yunnan's demonstration firms for service-oriented manufacturing, hail from Kunming.
Service-oriented manufacturing is of vital importance for the manufacturing industry to facilitate its transformation and upgrading, strengthen core competitiveness of relevant firms, and achieve high-quality and leapfrog development.
The transformation of service-oriented manufacturing will further bolster enterprises' market competitiveness, better align their production and manufacturing capacity with market demand, improve users' experience, raise the value of their products, expand their presence in the market and enhance their economic benefits.
Kunming has attached great importance to the development of customized services, full-life-cycle management, testing and certification credentials, and the supply of total integration, as well as contracting services in the selection and cultivation of service-oriented manufacturing enterprises.
Kunming has taken the lead in Yunnan to provide national-level and provincial-level service-oriented manufacturing enterprises with a maximum of 500,000 yuan ($80,645.2) and 300,000 yuan respectively as incentives to further spur innovation .
So far, Kunming has allocated 22.3 million yuan to support the development of service-oriented manufacturing enterprises at different levels.
