Kunming FTZ has played a strong supporting role for the city in becoming a regional cross-border e-commerce center targeting markets in South Asia and Southeast Asia, and has injected vitality into the restructuring and upgrading of Yunnan's foreign trade.
Kunming FTZ has built four leading industrial clusters, which are: bonded trade & logistics, bonded manufacturing, bonded services and cross-border e-commerce.
The Kunming Area of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone will collaborate with FTZs in other provincial regions, Yunnan Dianzhong New Area and the China-Laos Mohan-Boten Economic Cooperation Area to provide more government services on a cross-provincial basis.
The Kunming Area of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone has conducted reforms in streamlining administration and delegating power, improved regulations and upgrading services, accelerated the building of a first-class, market-oriented, legalized, internationalized and convenient business environment, promoted the efficiency and facilitation of the registration of market entities, and stimulated the vitality of market entities. The FTZ has witnessed the registration of 32,800 new market entities, which includes 32,700 domestic enterprises with registered capital worth 268 billion yuan.
Since 2019, the Kunming Area of China (Yunnan) Pilot Free Trade Zone has allocated over 157.2 billion yuan to support the attraction of talents, and will continue to spend more than 100 million yuan to lure more talents over the next three to five years. In addition, the FTZ has fundamentally increased its spending on scientific and technological research, and has built more supporting platforms for talents in a drive to become a regional highland of talent. So far, it has been home to 77,600 talents, with a talent intensity of 26.7 percent.
