Guandu district, one of the core areas of Kunming, capital of Yunnan province, is striving to pioneer digital economy development in the city in 2023.
The district’s GDP has been leading the city for four years in a row, and ranked 58 among CCID China’s top 100 investment competitive districts in 2021.
By October 2021, Guandu had rolled out 2,928 5G base stations.
It will continue headway of AI technology, digital economic scale, digital government service and urban projects. By 2023, it will gain 35-percent growth in the number of market players and a revenue scale of 20 billion yuan($3.15 billion).
It will build an intelligent central platform for urban management, draining services and data sharing among government departments.
The area focuses on four industrial clusters, namely: headquarters economy, digital economy, trade and service, culture, tourism and healthcare.
Featuring large size, abundant sources and a sound base, Guandu will cultivate a better business environment, lower cost, and easier access to government services with the development of the Kunming part of the China (Yunnan) Free Trade Pilot Zone.
Guandu also boasts rich historical resources. It is home to the Guandu Ancient Town, which is home to both the Jingang Pagoda of the Ming Dynasty, Dian Opera, as well as numerous intangible cultural projects.
