Covering 800 acres, a field of golden rape blossoms in Jiangwei village, Kunming, carpets the land next to Dianchi Lake.
The flower field is a result of Jiangwei authorities responding to a national call to protect the lake . Before November 2021, the field was used to plant vegetables.
Now, as part of the improved beautiful scenery, the flower blooms are expected to attract more visitors and expand incomes for local residents.
On the basis of protecting national ecological conditions and effective agricultural pollution control, local authorities will create a green and organic agriculture demonstration zone around the lake, promoting rural tourism.
