The 22nd China (Yunnan) medical team to aid Uganda, Africa, has started training in Kunming, capital of Yunnan province.

The aid team consists of nine people from the Third People's Hospital of Yunnan Province, the Yunnan Provincial Infectious Disease Hospital, the Cooperation of Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital of Yunnan Province , and Kunming University of Science and Technology.

They will receive training in foreign affairs discipline, medical team management, matters that might require attention when working abroad, travel-related etiquette, and medical English.

In order to further strengthen prevention and control of the COVID-19 outbreak, the team will be specially trained and drilled to effectively perform large-scale sampling.

The medical team is expected to leave for Uganda in mid-to-late April this year, providing one year of medical assistance.

Yunnan has sent 21 medical teams to Uganda since 1983. They have provided humanitarian assistance, saved lives and improved public health.
