Fruit, nut exports from Yunnan lead country

The export volume of fruit and nuts grown in Yunnan province was around 1.08 million metric tons in 2021, ranking first in the country, with a total export value of 12.1 billion yuan ($1.91 billion), according to Kunming customs.

Both Yunnan's export volume and export value of fruit and nuts in the last year account for about one-third of the nation's total and go to more than 40 countries and regions.

In the year 2020, fruit accounted for 41.63 percent of the total exports of agricultural products in Yunnan and 50.9 percent of the province's total agricultural production.

The fruit is exported to destinations including Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Myanmar and Indonesia. Fruits such as citrus, grapes and apples from Yunnan are especially welcomed in foreign markets.
