Kunming held sharing sessions to launch Kunming book’s overseas edition, with touching stories about the city’s ethnic life, residents and history.
Using the first-person perspective, the book aims to showcase a true, sensible and warm Spring City to its overseas readers. They want the readers to see how Kunming’s history has evolved over time. Almost 53 residents' stories were told and illustrated using paintings.
The book also provides tips for travelers including the must-see spots and must-dos when sightseeing the beautiful city.
“Foreign exchanges require a friendly greeting. A perceptual Kunming is needed well. We try to tell the story of it in a simple and easy-to-understand way,” said Zhang Xiaoming, editor-in-chief of the book, and head of the Kunming Municipal Foreign Affairs Office.
“Through the perspectives of urban residents, readers can feel the detailed life experience, the unique and diverse activities, and the livable atmosphere of Kunming where people and nature coexist peacefully,” he added.
Sun Qun, deputy mayor of the city, said, “The more you understand Kunming, the more you will love this city. The book is like an opening window through which the city’s colorfulness, diversity can be glimpsed."
