This is an ancient center of Yunnan culture, and several buildings and monuments from ancient times remain today, dating back all the way to the Tang dynasty, including the ornately carved stone Jingang Pagoda, from the 15th century. The surrounding streets offer restaurants, snack shops, crafts, street markets, and bars, and are also a favorite gathering place for local residents.
