Kunming, as the capital of Yunnan province and one of the central cities in the southwest region, is a nationally famous historical and cultural city and an important national tourism and business city.
The 11th CPC Kunming Municipal Congress proposed to "build Kunming into a regional international central city based in southwest China, connecting with the whole country and radiating all over South and Southeast Asia". The Program for Building Kunming into a Regional International Central City (2017-2030), reviewed and approved at the third plenary session of the 11th CPC Kunming Municipal Committee, has not only identified the approach of building a regional international integrated hub, accelerating the construction of "four centers", and improving "three brands" across the board, but also drawn up timetables and roadmaps, and set well-defined priorities.
