Jinchuan Group Nickel and Cobalt Co's Nickel Smelter, China's largest nickel production base, has kept its furnaces burning for more than 60 years, producing high-quality electrolytic nickel while advancing smart, green manufacturing.
The company's "Jintuo" brand electrolytic nickel was registered with the London Metal Exchange in 1995 and has become a globally recognized name in Chinese nonferrous metals.
To tackle complex raw materials and improve efficiency, the Nickel Smelter upgraded its smelting technology, achieving intelligent control of nickel concentrate blending. It also applied three-stage precision filtration for catholyte, eliminating filtration and turbidity problems, and adopted automated purification control and smart electrolyte monitoring. These efforts have won provincial science and technology awards.
The company has built an integrated quality, safety, and environment management system, with closed-loop control from raw material intake to product delivery.
It now produces nickel for electroplating, coinage, and superalloys, as well as nickel buttons. Its self-developed electroplating nickel meets international top standards, breaking foreign monopolies.
Inside the smart workshop, AI vision systems grade nickel plates, AGV robots handle materials, and intelligent cranes and storage systems run unmanned operations. The old factory relies on rooftop solar and waste-heat power for clean electricity, and its in-house waste-heat recovery and wastewater treatment tech have earned national accolades.
