Jinchuan Group's precious metals smelting branch, part of Jinchuan Group Copper Co, recently completed a full-process upgrade of its 1 kilogram gold ingot production, further strengthening its brand and technical prowess.
The company is the largest gold and silver production base in Northwest China and has established a complete precious metals industrial chain spanning smelting, new materials, and resource recycling.
This upgrade focuses on refining and purification, expanding the number of elements analyzed in gold raw materials from the 12 required by national standards to 18, adding trace impurity detection for elements such as selenium, sulfur, and sodium. By precisely controlling these elements — which affect the ductility and internal structure of the ingots — product purity has been significantly raised, reaching 99.995–99.999 percent, at the forefront of domestic advanced levels.
The branch has also introduced new gold-melting equipment and optimized the melting and granulation processes, enabling more precise temperature control and detection of melt loss. The melt loss rate for gold ingots is now strictly controlled within 0.02 per mille. Additionally, the project has established a comprehensive anti-counterfeiting system that includes six-sided pressing, secondary oil pressure marking, unique serial numbering, and multi-angle optical anti-counterfeiting features. Combined with an ongoing blockchain traceability platform, it enables full supply chain anti-counterfeiting and tracking from production to circulation.
This process upgrade not only lays a solid foundation for Jinchuan Group to produce higher-purity gold of 5N (99.999 percent) and even above 6N (99.9999 percent) but also represents a key breakthrough in the high-end, intelligent transformation of China's precious metals industry.
