Primary and middle schools in East China's Jiangsu province reopened on Feb 14 following the winter vacation.

At the school-opening ceremonies, students put on various performances, most of which were about the Spring Festival and the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, to show what they experienced and learned during the vacation.

As part of efforts to ease academic pressure on students, school students in Jiangsu were assigned special winter vacation homework, such as following the top news and making short videos or writing reports to present the city's history and culture.

Jiang Shuhua, principal of Nantong Zilang No 1 Primary School, said the school will continue to design useful courses and optimize homework assignment to help students achieve holistic improvement in the new semester.
