Pakistan native Shahzad Ahmed came to study at the Silk Road School of Renmin University of China in 2018 and got his Chinese name Meng Long from a teacher at the school.

During his two years of study at the school, he travelled to more than 30 Chinese cities, observed Chinese people's way of living and working, explored the development of infrastructure construction in China, as well as reflected on the experiences of China's rapid economic development.

Ahmed said that he believes that he has learnt two important things in China, one is the mode of operation of the Chinese government, while the other is the development experience of Suzhou Industrial Park.

As part of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project, Pakistan has vigorously promoted the construction of economic development zones since 2012. Ahmed believes that the successful experience of Suzhou Industrial Park is of great value.

After graduation, Ahmed has been working on the construction of economic zones and attracting investment. He is contributing to the economic cooperation between China and Pakistan, assisting companies from the two countries to cooperate and achieve mutually beneficial results.

Located on Dushu Lake in Suzhou, the Silk Road School of Renmin University of China was established in 2018. To date, it has attracted 205 students from over 60 countries and regions all over the world.

Nearly 100 students have graduated from the Silk Road School and began to work in fields like politics, economy, culture, and education around the world.
