Over 1,200 youth electronic geeks from Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province rivaled their professional skills at an electronic production competition on Dec 7.

The participants, coming from 102 local primary, middle and high schools, showed off their expertise in five categories of innovative circuit assembly, production and positioning of dummy robots, making and detection of space probes, making and driving of intelligent track rovers, and making and exploring of room-hunting robots.

The innovative assembly of circuits for primary school entrants was the first contest to kick off. The youngsters were required to complete their work within five minutes. The atmosphere was tense; the players raced against the clock; and pieces were one by one assembled to make a good job. The referees then carefully observed and confirmed the completion of the works. Participants in the other categories also immersed themselves in producing. They were active, competent, and eager to learn from each other.

The electronic production competition was an integration of science and technology, sports, fun and creativity. The participants fully experienced the charm of electronic production and lit up the light of technology in their hearts.

The event was organized by the Suzhou Municipal Education Bureau and won concerted support from Suzhou High-tech Zone Education Bureau, Suzhou High-tech Zone Tongan Middle School, and Suzhou Youth Education Guidance Center.
