The city of Xinghua – located in East China's Jiangsu province – is conducting simultaneous work in three core areas, which aims to effectively eliminate or control safety risks and harmful factors in construction projects.
An important pre-production guarantee measure for safety in output, the work means that the safety facilities in a construction project must be designed, constructed and deployed simultaneously.
A special vehicle manufacturing plant operated by Poly Orica (Jiangsu) Mining Machinery Co Ltd – settling in the Xinghua Economic Development Zone – is a key project in the province in the current year.
The project's painting process operation is seen as a risk point for production. To strengthen the guidance for the three simultaneous levels of work safety, Xinghua officials led a team to the project site for an assessment on April 9.
They found that there were omissions in the design of the painting process workshop, requiring the contractor to add explosion-proof windows and install explosion-proof walls.
"The suggestions are timely. Not only can it reduce security risks, but it also avoids the problem of increased costs due to post rectification," said Ye Dehong, general manager of Poly Orica (Jiangsu) Mining Machinery Co Ltd.
To date, Xinghua has sent a number of special teams to conduct inspections on major projects that currently underway, in order to ensure their legal, safe and speedy construction.
