The first phase of a major condiments plant being operated by Jiahao Foods (Jiangsu) Co Ltd started production recently in Xinghua city – administered by Taizhou in East China's Jiangsu province.
Situated in the Xinghua Economic Development Zone, phase I cost 600 million yuan ($83.67 million) and it specializes in the manufacturing and sales of premium condiments such as chicken essence, chicken sauce and soy sauce.
At present, the chicken essence, chicken sauce and soup production lines have started trial output. When all lines go into full production, they're expected to generate annual sales of 600 million yuan.
Jiahao Foods (Jiangsu) Co Ltd is a subsidiary of Guangdong Jiahao Foods Co Ltd, one of the main manufacturers of wasabi and chicken sauce in China.
"The settlement of the phase I condiment plant of Jiahao Foods Co enhances the industrialization scale of the zone's seasoning industry and also fills a gap in related products," said Liu Feng, a zone official.
What's more, the new plant is seen as boosting synergies with other residents in the zone. For example, its chicken essence and chicken sauce will feed into the supply chain of the zone's pre-prepared food industry as they're essential seasonings for those products.
The company's phase II condiments plant, costing 660 million yuan, is expected to begin construction next year.
