Two food processing plants in the Xinghua Economic Development Zone – located in Xinghua city in East China's Jiangsu province – have been classified as major agricultural provincial models for the years 2020-2022.
The first plant, which started construction in March 2021, is operated by Jiangsu Pastoral Health Technology Co Ltd and cost 355 million yuan ($51.26 million).

The company is engaged in research and innovation into the cold fermentation of wholemeal bread – among other things – making the bread stay spongy and chewy, without the use of sugar and oil.
It has worked with COFCO Corporation, China's largest cereal and oil food company, along with logistics brand Cai Niao, to improve the customer experience.
The other plant, focusing on snack foods and fish meat products, is operated by Jiangsu Qiliang Food Co Ltd and cost 110 million yuan. It has on a site covering 51 mu (3.4 hectares) and has a floor space of 40,000 square meters.

To speed up its digital process, the company introduced 296 sets of equipment – including intelligent production lines, full-automatic transmission systems, packing machines and meat grinders.
