This year's first ultra large dual fuel container ship Seaboard Verde, equipped with world's largest vertical LNG fuel tank, set sail recently.
It left the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone, located in Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province, and conducted a trial voyage.
With a total length of 248 meters and a width of 35.2 m, the ship is capable of transporting 3,500 TEU containers in one go, making it the largest container ship built in the history of the zone.
The ship is a 3,500 TEU dual fuel – natural gas and diesel – container series vessel built by Taizhou Sanfu Ship Engineering for a German shipowner.
The energy efficiency design index of this ship has exceeded current industry standards and its environmental performance far exceeds that of its peers.
