The Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone – located in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – is on the move to join forces with leading universities.
Zhang Yun, deputy director of Taizhou Port EDZ, recently led a delegation to several top universities – including Changsha University of Science and Technology, Hunan University, Central South University and Xiamen University – to explore potential partnerships in industrial technology, talent development and entrepreneurship.
At Changsha University of Science and Technology, the delegation focused on technology transfers and innovation competitions, stressing the importance of getting young scientists involved.
Zhang lauded the university for its impressive resources and expressed optimism for future collaborations that could boost local industrial growth.
During their visit to the College of Electrical and Information Engineering at Hunan University, discussions centered on aligning the university's strengths with the needs of the high-end equipment manufacturing sector. Zhang invited the faculty to visit Taizhou for deeper collaboration.
At Central South University's College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, discussions focused on addressing industry technology challenges and expanding cooperation in electronic packaging and testing.

The delegation also toured the laboratories of Xiamen University, where they explored cutting-edge research facilities. Zhang invited university experts to partner with the zone to commercialize medical devices.
Moving forwards, the Taizhou Port EDZ plans to strengthen its ties with universities and research institutes – using innovation resources to drive technological advancement and attract top talent.
