By focusing on urban functions, revitalizing urban appearance and enhancing urban quality, the housing and urban-rural development bureau of the Taizhou Medical High-tech Zone – located in Taizhou city, East China's Jiangsu province – has made sustained efforts to improve the living environment of its residents.
Since the start of the year, the bureau has steadily made progress on the construction of key projects, including renovation work on 17 urban road flood inundation points.
Efforts have also been made to improve support facilities, such as residential community drainage improvements and construction of parking and charging facilities.
In addition, the bureau has strengthened its management and promoted revamps of the zone's urban appearance.
As a result, it now conducts regular dust control measures for 48 monitored projects under construction and 42 directly managed projects around Zhoushan River block, thereby strengthening the effectiveness of air pollution prevention and controls.
It has also accelerated the resolution of urban governance problems, with a raft of small matters such as more convenient parking and shared bicycles.
