The Xuzhuang subdistrict – located in the Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – recently held a special campaign to improve online security and help businesses combat internet-related risks.
During the event, the subdistrict set up information stands, organized prize-winning quizzes and distributed flyers detailing common scams such as university campus fraud, pension scams, fake reviews and refunds fraud.
Residents were encouraged to download the National Anti-fraud Center app and advised to remain cautious in their daily lives.
The campaign also targeted businesses. Volunteers visited Toko Food (Jiangsu) Co Ltd, distributing materials and explaining how to report online infringements and protect legal rights. The goal was to help employees understand how to safeguard themselves against harmful online content and infringements.
In the local Machang community, the police conducted presentations and interactive Q&A sessions to discuss telecom fraud tactics and prevention strategies.
Resident Li Dazhong remarked, "Scammers are becoming cleverer. This event taught me useful ways to protect myself."
Looking ahead, Xuzhuang subdistrict plans to continue its efforts to boost online security – ensuring a safer digital environment for both residents and businesses.
