Ye Donghua, vice-mayor of Taizhou city – located in East China's Jiangsu province – led a special team to inspect the progress of key projects in the Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone on Aug 6.
A highlight of the visit was a tour to the Susa Food Co Ltd project, which involves a significant investment of 1 billion yuan ($139.45 million) in a plant-based protein beverage production facility.
When completed, it is ecpected to produce 30 million cases of coconut juice annually. While there, Ye held detailed discussions with the company's management, expressing confidence in their progress and urging them to address any challenges they may face in the future.
He also visited Jiangsu Jinzhu New Materials Technology Co Ltd, which is investing 510 million yuan to produce high-performance transmission belts.
This project aims to reduce reliance on imported materials and is expected to produce 50 million meters of transmission belts annually.
Ye also inspected Taizhou Hongyun Sports Equipment Co Ltd, which is investing 560 million yuan in a new facility to manufacture sports equipment and toys. He called on the company to stay focused on its goals and to innovate in its operations.
