The Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone – located in Taizhou city in East China's Jiangsu province – recently posted first quarter results which were said to reflect significant progress in its economic development.
Projects got off to a flying start, with contracts signed quickly, while there was a noticeable uptick in productivity and investment.
Here are the highlights of Q1:
Regional GDP is expected, when the final figures come in, to have hit 3.26 billion yuan ($449.88 million) in the quarter, up by about 8 percent compared with last year.
General public budget revenue is projected to reach 275 million yuan, a whopping 58.96 percent increase on last year.
Large-scale industries are set to generate an industrial output value of 80.14 billion yuan in Q1, marking a 10.04 percent increase year-on-year.
Fixed asset investment is anticipated to reach 2.723 billion yuan, jumping 23.4 percent.
Major projects, like those undertaken by Jinshun Technology Co Ltd and Susa Food Co Ltd, broke ground, with others soon to follow suit.
Investment attraction efforts paid dividends, with seven high-quality projects securing contracts totaling nearly 3 billion yuan.
The zone's focus on project construction and investment attraction as primary growth drivers was evident in Q1. With a problem-solving approach and an emphasis on timely implementation, the goal is to ensure projects are completed, launched and operational as soon as possible.
Additionally, efforts to improve the business environment got into full swing in the first quarter – aiming to support business development and fostering economic and social progress.
