Two companies resident in the Taizhou Port Economic Development Zone – located in Taizhou city, in East China's Jiangsu province – were recently honored as service-oriented manufacturing demonstration enterprises in the region.
The term service-oriented manufacturing describes a new industrial form that integrates production and the development of services. It's seen as an important direction for the deep integration of advanced manufacturing and modern service industries.
One of the companies – Jiangsu Senci Electric Machinery Co Ltd – specializes in the research and development, manufacturing, sales and technical services of high-tech products. These include high-efficiency generator sets, garden machinery, welding machines and portable backup equipment.
The company utilizes information technologies and platforms such as big data, the internet of things and business systems to achieve full lifecycle management of output.
The other company is Taizhou Millennium Textile Technology Co Ltd. It's a large-scale research and development, production and sales center for embroidery thread, sewing thread and color spinning in China.
The company has adopted new-generation information technologies, such as big data and artificial intelligence. That's to achieve customized services in product research and development, personalized designs, complex process production, flexible customized production, information system construction and production capacity efficiency.
At present, the zone is home to four provincial-level, service-oriented manufacturing demonstration enterprises. Plans are for it to assist resident enterprises by bolstering its model for technical equipment and services.
